I became infected with a severe case of “travel-itis” many years ago. My trips have always included taking pictures of everything I saw. I would bore all of my friends with a running commentary of the hundreds of slides I took on each trip. Of course I first made sure they were all fed well.
When I tired of taking slides, I switched to print film. And then the worst possible thing happened — the film processor ruined my pictures of Machu Picchu. I broke down and joined the digital generation.
I’ve always enjoyed showing my pictures to people and also telling them all about my trips. Now that I’m no longer working full time, I’m turning my trip diaries and digital pictures into my “Come with Me” series for anyone who might be interested in reading about the places I explore and seeing my photos.
